How Shall I Calm My Mind?

I want peace of mind, but it is my desire for peace of mind that disturbs my mind.

I am trying to calm the ocean with a flatiron.

To calm the ocean, the Earth must stop moving.

Instead, we must watch the waves come in and go out. Do not ride them all. They are not all worth riding. Are any of them? Yes, if you want to ride waves, by all means, ride them. It’s called surfing.

But if you want the ocean to be calm, go to the mountains. When the air becomes too thin there, follow the rivers to the sea, as the rain does, and in fact, so does the mountain. For the grains of sand upon the beach, are but the dust of the bones of mountains.

Nothing is permanent, except change.

Nothing is in order, but chaos.
